Who is Eligible?

Jean Hayen Nursing Scholarship Fund

Information and applications to be available at:

  1. Minnesota Public High Schools
  2. Minnesota Alternative Learning Centers (ALC’s)
  3. Minnesota Technical Colleges with Licensed Practical Nursing Programs
  4. Minnesota Community Colleges with Registered Nursing Programs and LPN to RN Mobility Programs.

Eligibility:

  1. Applicant must be a single parent, OR
  2. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Income must be less than $15,000 per year
  3. Applicant must be a full-time or part-time student enrolled in any of the following:
    1. High School Senior (any high school, including alternative learning centers)
    2. Registered for an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant Course (not reimbursable by employer or government agency
    3. Any Minnesota Technical College Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
    4. Any Minnesota Community College two-year Registered Nursing Program OR RN Mobility Program.
    5. Any Minnesota College offering a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  4. Applicant must be in good academic standing.
  5. Applicant must be a resident of Minnesota.

 

2007-2008 School Year Awards:
$1,000 award – to student attending a Technical College LPN Program (2 awards)
$1,000 award – to student attending a Community College for 2-year RN program or LPN to RN mobility program (2 awards)
Course award – to student attending a Certified Nursing Assistant Program (1 award)
